ur Director has devoted over five decades to the art of barbering, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a deep passion for the profession. His journey began with his father, the famous Mauricio Barragan (1892-1943), who moved from Santa Rosa, Chihuahua, Mexico to El Paso in 1910, where he became a skilled barber and founded the renowned Barragan Family Barber business.
In June 1995, a pivotal moment occurred with the founding of Pipo Barber College. It is now one of the thirty-two Barber Colleges located in the vast state of Texas, and it proudly serves the far West Texas region. Our Director holds multiple licenses, including Barber Instructor, and Cosmetology Instructor.

Barber Course: 1000 Hours
A student must be at least 16 years of age (Birth Certificate).
A Student must provide a document proving their education level is above the 7th grade.
A student must provide two (2) facial photographs in color or black /white with a signature on rear of photographs.
A student must provide a copy of Texas driver’s license or a Texas ID.
A student must provide a copy of Social Security card.
A student must submit a registration application to TDLR with a non-refundable money order of $25.00 for a Student Permit or the use of a credit or debit card.
Tuition & Out Of Pocket Fees
$7000 - Tuition
$300 - Books
$600 - Kit
$100 - Administration Fee (Non-refundable)

Cosmetologist To Barber: 300 Hours
